In memoriam of Royene Evelyn McLeod nee McLean. She was born in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.
Predeceased by her parents Jesse Audrey and Robert Roy McLean (born Stone) of New Brunswick. Siblings Linda Perrin, Beverly Sewell, Leanord (Sonny) McLean. The fathers of her children Joe Foley of N.B. and Richard McLeod of Dryden.
Survived by her four children; William Patrick McLeod (Manuella) of Ottawa, Carrie Audrey Foley (Micheal) of Ottawa, Elizabeth Ann Foley (Dan) of Windsor, and Lori Lee (nee McLeod) (Tim) Brough of Dryden. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with many nieces and nephews.
Her achievements included working as Civilian CFB Ottawa unionizing workforce and achieving equal pay for equal work for all, all over Canada. Returning to Oromocto N.B., she became Aux Pres acting Pres. 1st and 2nd chair of the legion right next to CFB Gagetown after a devastating fire. She helped to raise funds to rebuild it. Returning to Dryden to spend her remaining years with youngest daughter Lori in Larson Bay, enjoying the wildlife, bonfires, BBQ’s, fishing, and beating her son in law Tim in dice.
She moved to 10 Victoria and became part of an extended family of friends, playing bingo, cards, playing games, puzzles, shared meals, and gathering for great conversations. Her time with friends and caregivers there meant the world to Mom.
Special thanks to Dr. M Bester, extraordinary care given to her by Dr. Doiron and nurse, caregiver and friend Junelaine (Lanie) for going far beyond the call of duty.
