Date of Funeral

March 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Patricia Eileen Marie Lands. Pat was born Oct 17, 1946 and passed away at DRHC on March 21, 2026 surrounded by family.

Around the age of five she moved with her family to Langley B.C. and then to Vancouver. She learned Scottish highland dancing. The family returned to Oxdrift and she attended Glengoland, Riverview and Dryden High School. She married and raised her two daughters Christina and Jo-Anne. She held various jobs, working at the Dryden tree nursery, MNR Fire Centre, H&R Block, and various Aboriginal organizations and enterprises , with over 20 years at Anishinaabe Abinooji Family Services. Throughout her career she helped many Aboriginal families. She married Mitchell Lands in 1994.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Mitchell, daughters Christina (Patrick Berrey), and Jo-Anne (Scott Senakovicz), sister Barbara Silver, grandsons Bryan and Brent Berrey, great grandson Casper, brothers and sisters in-law Patrick, Norman, Marty, Ruth and Brenda Lands, numerous nieces and nephews. Also her very special friends Debbie McDonald and Denise Lavergne. Pat was predeceased by her parents Chriss and Eileen Wilson , brother Jim and infant sister.

She grew up in a musical household, where a love of music became a lasting part of her life. Her faith was deeply important to her and guided her in all she did. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others—she could strike up a conversation with anyone and made friends wherever she went.

She had a special love for animals, both domestic and wild, and believed each one deserved a name. In her earlier years, she bred Siamese cats, and she adored her current companion, her Siamese “Mr. Wilson.”

She took great care in raising her daughters, ensuring they learned proper etiquette, including how to set a beautiful dinner table. She was known for her generosity, always giving freely of her time, talents, and her gifts.

A Visitation will take place at the Eagle Lake First Nation Community Hall on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11 a.m. A Traditional Service will follow on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. with Father Mike Mahoney and Elder Ralph Johnson officiating.

Should you desire, donations can be made to Second Chance Pet Network, Box 343, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1, or in lieu of donations, please spend time with your loved ones.
