It is with profound love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, wife, and friend Denise Régina Levesque (nee St. Pierre), born on October 2nd, 1941, in St. Paula, Québec.
Denise grew up on a small farm where she was one of the oldest out of her 14 siblings, so it became natural for Denise to develop motherly instincts at a young age, having to help her mother raise the rest of the crew. She never had much of a chance to go out and play with the others; it was always what do we have to do next. That being said, she was a pretty shy, quiet farm girl who never strayed very far. At 34 years old, she finally met the man of her dreams. They crossed paths at her parents’ farm to look at some livestock. She later married that man, Lionel Levesque. They went back to Ignace, Ontario where they grounded their roots with their 4 children.
Denise was a very quiet, soft-spoken women who had a passion for baking and cooking. She always made sure no one left the table without an inch left to spare in their tummy, and she wouldn’t dare give away one of her recipes knowing we would all be back for more good eats and a visit!
She had never gotten her drivers license and loved the fresh air and exercise, so she always walked up town for her mail and groceries with her little slay in the winter, or her 3 wheeled pedal bike with a basket on the back for the summer. Her 3 favourite hobbies were, painting, picking blueberries so she can make homemade pies for us all, and going fishing with dad.
She was a very pleasant lady who liked to joke around and keep everyone in a laughing spirit. The one and only thing she didn’t like is anyone messing around with her 3-wheeler bike. Her kids and grandchildren could all vouch for that one as well as we’ve all encountered on multiple occasions having her chase us around the yard with her straw broom to get us off her precious 3-wheeled Harley.
Denise passed away peacefully at the age of 84 at the Dryden Princess Court Long Term Care Facility on March 17 (St. Patty’s Day), 2026.
She is survived by her children Linda (Dave) Tremblay, Sylvain (Carrie) Levesque, Michel (Wendy) Levesque, and Stephane (Amber) Levesque.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Princess Court DECO, Box 953, Dryden, ON P8N 3E3
