Michael Aitken

May 6, 1953 – February 19, 2018

Michael Charles Aitken died suddenly on February 8, 2018. Mike was born in London, Ontario in May, 1953. He was one of six brothers and two sisters. The family moved to Dryden in 1963 for his father to take up a teaching position at Dryden High School. Mike attended Pinewood and Riverview Schools as well as Dryden High School.

Michael was predeceased by his father, William (Bill) Aitken and by his brother Stuart. He was self-employed as a trucker and heavy equipment operator in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Dryden.

He enjoyed his family, dogs and motorcycles. He hoped to be able to travel to a warmer climate in his coach and cruise around on his Harley. He enjoyed making deals that would get him toys that he thought he needed for his business.

He is survived by his mother, June Aitken, his brothers, Rob, Peter, Andrew and Lawrence, his sisters, Mary and Margaret and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date.
