It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tyler James “OG” MacLeay, age 44, on March 6th, 2024 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

Tyler was born in Thunder Bay, ON on October 8, 1979 to Patti-Ann MacLeay and James Dance. Tyler lived in Thunder Bay most of his life until moving to Ignace, ON in 2018. Tyler attended Bishop E.Q. Jennings and Hammarskjold Highschool. Tyler enjoyed the outdoors. Camping, fishing and hiking. Tyler was also a knowledgeable handyman. He enjoyed spending his time fixing things and doing renovations. If anyone needed help with something, Tyler would always lend a hand. That’s the type of guy he was. Tyler’s last years were spent trapping minnows on his trap line, which he was very proud of. As well as picking pinecones and blueberries. Tyler was always up to something to keep himself busy. Tyler was a sports lover, weather it be watching baseball and hockey with his friends to watching UFC and boxing. His favorite team was the Toronto Blue Jays. He was a die hard fan.

Tyler is survived by his daughter Genevieve MacLeay, step-children Tariq and Truly Majeau (Danielle), mom Patti-Ann MacLeay, brothers Max and Jeff Likun, 1 niece, 3 nephews, uncle Pete, numerous aunts and cousins. Good friends Jamie, Darren, Jason, Danielle & Nico, and many others.

Predeceased by his father James Dance, step-father Jerry Likun, uncles Skip and Mikey, grandparents Joan & Garry Goodfellow and George & Bernice Dance.

A special thank you goes out to the Dryden Regional Health Centre and the Dryden Community Funeral Home.
