Date of Funeral

March 25, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, poppa, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew and friend, Rick, at the age of 64 with family by his side.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Dorothy Doudiet, his brothers, Cameron and Albert, and his sister, Darlene Pollard.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cathy, daughter Crystal (Curtis) of Moose Jaw, SK, son Richard (Arin) of Dryden, his grandchildren Ethan, Lily and Rhett, his brothers, Joe of Dryden, Lawrence (Cheryl) of Ear Falls, sisters Janet of Thunder Bay, Sheila and Shawna (Pat) of Dryden. His Aunt Pauline and Uncle Bob, mother-in-law Lorna Matthew’s, brother-in-law Ernie (Joanne) of Oxdrift, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special life-long friends.

Rick grew up in Oxdrift, and worked at the Dryden Mill from 1981-2019, and completed his working career, fully retired from Solomon & Sons in 2022.

Rick was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and hunting.

He was a hard-working, selflessly generous man, always giving of himself to those around him. Rick was a lot of things to a lot of people, and his absence will be felt very deeply by many.

A Celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday March 25th, 2023 at 12:30pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Dryden.
