Mike Sachowski January 28, 1934 - September 11, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mike Sachowski announce his peaceful passing, surrounded by his family, at the age 88.

Mike will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his family and many wonderful friends.  Mike is survived by his children Robert and Kathy; son-in-law Roger and grandchildren Matthew (Carly) and Kristen (Nic) who he was so very proud of.  He is also survived by his sister Myrtle Ukrainice, brother Bill Sachowski, and numerous nieces and nephews.  We take comfort in knowing that he has joined the love of his life Irene.  Mike was also predeceased by Jackie, his parents, sisters Pearl and Stella and brother John.

Mike was born in Poplarfield, MB, on January 28, 1934 one of six children of Stephen and Katheryna Sachowski.  He spent his youth in Poplarfield and that is where he met and married Irene in 1961.  Together they moved to Dryden where they raised their family and spent time with an amazing group of friends. Mike enjoyed a long and rewarding career in the Woodlands Division of the local paper mill until his retirement in 1992. In June 1997, his heart was broken when Irene passed away after a battle with cancer.

Mike had a passion for the game of golf and enjoyed the winter months in Palm Springs with his cherished “Dryden Crew”, this is where he met Jackie. Leaving Dryden in 2000 to be with Jackie, Penticton, BC became his home-base.  He remained in Penticton, after Jackie’s passing in 2015, moving into the Southwood Regency where he remained with good friend Pat and the rest of the cards group, until he returned home in June to be with family.

Special thanks to Cynthia and Laine for their unwavering support throughout Mike’s final journey.  You will never know how much we appreciated your support.

As per Mike’s wishes there will be no service and a family internment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations can be made to the Dryden Regional Health Centre -Equipment Fund, P.O. Box 3003, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z6
