With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lewis Albert Berrey with his family by his side. He was a Son, Brother, Cousin, Husband, Father, Uncle, Great Uncle, Grampa, Great Grampa, and a Friend and to everyone.
He enjoyed the simplest things in life – mother nature and all that she had to offer, and found good in almost everyone he met, always parting as a friend. He worked at the Texaco Bulk Station – the family business, Regional Logging, for Fred Plomp as a carpenter, and then went on to be a heavy-duty mechanic for the Woodlands Division of the paper mill in Dryden for many years – a friend to all of his co-workers and could fix or build anything.
Lewis had his first stroke at the age of 53, when they gave him 2-5 years to live. With pride and determination, he lived in his home with his wife, Jennifer for the next 28 years – under her watchful eye, and a little help from her, and his family and friends (if he would let you) and spent his final 3+ years in Princess Court, making new friends – the staff, nurses, maintenance crew, family members of other residents, all the while helping all of the new residents adjust to their new home. Having his own phone, he continued to call to check on, offer his help and wisdom, or give Birthday or Holiday wishes to family and friends near and far.
Survived by his wife Jennifer, son David (Melanie) Berrey, daughter Angie Berrey (Ray Lesage), and the mother of his children, Anne Berrey. Grandsons Richard (Yvonne) and Norman (Jerri-Anne), Great Grandsons Kolton and Deason, and nephews (Mike, Dale, and Patrick Berrey) great nephews, cousins and extended family.
We ask that you to take a moment and be little more like him – proud, determined, kind – just live every day to the fullest! And if you ever see someone without a smile, give them yours. His flame may have gone out, but his light will shine forever in the memories of anyone that knew him. Forever in our memories, always in our hearts, we love you and miss you.
A Private Celebration of Life in his honour will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Second Chance Pet Network, Box 343, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1

Or hey kiddo, And ask how my day was. We always joked that i beat him. ( of course i didnt) its an inside joke. Thank goodness his family knew what we were talking about haha and he always had pictures or magazines to show us. He will definitely be missed but he staff on unit 1.
