Leo Morin January 1, 1950 - September 14, 2022

Date of Funeral

September 19, 2022

Leo lost his courageous battle to cancer on September 14, 2022 with his family by his side at the Dryden Regional Health Center.

Leo was born January 1, 1950 in Hearst Ontario to Lionel and Cecile Morin.  Leo met Shannon in June 1973 in The Pas Manitoba and were married March 2, 1974.  They had  two children together and ultimately moved to Dryden in 1985.  Where they purchased a business, Hide Away Motel, and the family poured their heart and soul into its success.

Leo wore many hats with many different positions but his ultimate favorite job was his last, driving with Wayne Peters trucking.  He didn’t need to work but loved to keep himself busy.

Leo is predeceased by his parents and Shannon’s parents.  Leo is survived by his two children, Michael Morin (Erica), Erin Huckell (Terry) and three granddaughters, Kaelyn, Anesa, and Kylee. Leo also had two sisters, Colette (Dan) Macdonald, Anita Morin (Gino) both who reside in Southern Ontario.

Leo spent his days enjoying the outdoors, fishing, puttering outside and Nascar.  His family knew Sunday afternoons were dedicated to his race, and if for some reason he was unable to watch he definitely made sure it was being recorded.

A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Velma Henderson officiating.

Internment will take place at a later date.
