Kenneth Kerney February 1, 1956 - January 5, 2023

Date of Funeral

January 12, 2023

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth David Kerney, more fondly known to most as KK. Ken passed away peacefully at Dryden Regional Health Centre surrounded by family at his side.

Survived by his wife Wendy, sisters Connie, Janice (Bob), Jill (Roger), Marsha (Ron), brother Keith (Jo-Anne). Also nieces and nephews Michelle, Angela, Jamie, Michael, Melissa and Matt. Predeceased by father Ken, mother Esther, father-in-law Garnet and mother-in-law Thelma, brother-in-law Jim, brother-in-law Bill and niece Shelly.

Ken was born and raised in Dryden and enjoyed hockey, baseball, and golf. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Eskies and Montreal Expos. Among Kens passions was his love of music and he possessed a large classic vinyl collection. If you could name it, Ken would spin it.

He worked at the paper mill until his retirement on March 25th, 2017. When he was not at work he could often be found at “the office”. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family and many friends.

Celebration of Ken’s life will be at the Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at 11am with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating and luncheon to follow.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DRHC Palliative Care Department, PO Box 3003, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z6

The Memorial Service can also be viewed over Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87469806800?pwd=ci9LSFIvUVF4eXg2b0N0dW5Zb1FkZz09

My condolences Wendy and the K family. KK was a good friend, had many days of fun, played a lot of ball and hockey together and against each other. I ran into KK at the golf course this last summer and had a chance to say hello. I wish I had spent more time talking as I was in a rush. I wish you all the best through these trying times
