Date of Funeral

January 23, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Karen Green announces her sudden passing January 12, 2023. Karen is predeceased by her parents Margaret Landon nee Belmore and Harold Green, as well as her sisters Kathy Gustafson and Sarah Green.

Karen was a kind and loving person who will be missed by everyone who knew her. She enjoyed spending her time at home with Brian watching TV, doing puzzles and playing cards.

During her younger years, Karen and Brian would spend the summer seasons at Century Lodge where she forged a family friendship with the owners of the lodge. She was happy to help Grandma Mary with her catering for many events, including the annual Pow Wow in Eagle Lake. Karen loved her family, especially her grandbabies, whom she cherished. She enjoyed cooking dinners for holidays and birthdays, which always included her famous sweet and sour ribs. She considered her greatest accomplishment the completion of her high school education from Seven Generations, and took particularly pride in being the graduating class’s valedictorian. Karen had a large circle of friends whom she enjoyed having a good time with and will be forever loved and missed.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. until time of service at the Eagle Lake First Nation Community Hall.

A tradition service will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023 11 a.m. at the Eagle Lake First Nation Community Hall with Elder Tom Favell officiating. Interment will follow at the Skye Cemetery.
