June Desserre (nee King)
June 6, 1942 – June 23, 2023
With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our mother, sister and grandmother, June Beatrice Desserre (nee King), on June 23, 2023. After leaving down home, she and Dad moved to Dryden, built their family home and raised their four children, which only grew to include anyone and everyone; the house was always open. Everyone who knew her understood that family was where her heart was; she was well known for her sense of humour, kindness, and especially her cooking.
She is survived by her husband Ron, daughter Maureen (Russ), grandson Dion: Son Allan (Roberta), grandchildren Quinn, Riley, and Abigail; Son Randy (Terri), grandchildren Brady, Marissa, Taylor and Kayla; and daughter Judy (predeceased), grandson Jay Palker, great- grand-children Avikka, Lyrika; grandson Jeff Palker, great-grand-children, Jett, Jaxx, Jaya, Jessa; granddaughter Jessica (Stephen) Smeltzer, great-grandchildren Ariana, Brock, Easton. Her sister Doreen (Glen) Wrolstad, brother-in-law Russell Willis, Dad’s siblings and many other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Judy, her great-grand-daughter angel Brielle, her parents Allan and Gwen King, and her sisters, Beverly (George) Hyatt, Marlene Gouliquer, Elaine (Garry) Desserre, and Carol Willis.
Mom leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. The teachings she shared will forever be with her loved ones, who will continue her legacy. A special thank you to nephew David Willis for always calling and keeping Mom updated on sports and news. Thanks to the staff at DRHC, our angels on the hill.
