It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Evelyn Giles into the spirit world.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Sheldon Gardner, Kevin Gardner, Melonee Giles-Hunter, and Rikki Petawanikweb aka Frog, as well as many grandchildren, family and friends from Dryden and surrounding area.
As a child, she attended Cecilia Jeffrey Residential School and then moved to the Ottawa area where she studied and became a successful hairdresser. She loved hairdressing and had salons in many towns and cities. Later in life, she attended College and became an addiction and mental health councillor. She worked in Northern Communities in the NOW area. She was a great person who helped many people. She loved her native culture and used it to guide herself and others along the way. She loved animals, especially dogs, even more so her own dog Princess. She always met challenges with a positive attitude and loved life during her time here.
She will be remembered, loved, and missed by many people. Let her journey into the spirit world be not of sorrow but met with kindness and love; for she was a beautiful person in life.
