In loving memory of Esther Miriam Larocque (nee Nickel)…
Esther Larocque married the love of her life, Hylas Larocque, in 1958. Together, they raised three children and joyfully welcomed a beautiful daughter into their family in 1970.
Esther had a deep love for her Lord and was an active member of the Mennonite Church in Ear Falls, Ontario, where she and her family lived and grew together in faith.
A dedicated homemaker and skilled gardener, Esther also played a vital role in the family businesses — Larocque’s Evergreen Lodge and Larocque’s Septic Services, both in Ear Falls — where she worked as the accountant for many years.
She found great joy in creating gifts for her loved ones through knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. Her love language was cooking, and she cherished every opportunity to prepare meals and feed her family.
In 2015, Esther and Hylas moved to Dryden to be closer to their family and to access the medical care they needed.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at FMC and to everyone who has offered support, kindness, and care during this time.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Free Methodist Church, 261 Van Horne Ave, Dryden, ON P8N 2C3
