Elizabeth Lotze January 21, 1933 - January 26, 2023

In loving memory of Elizabeth Lotze of Dryden, Ontario who passed away on January 26, 2023 at the age of 90.

Betty was born in Starbuck, Manitoba on January 21, 1933. She graduated from Grade 13 and attended teachers college in North Bay. She taught school in Eton Rugby and Redditt from 1954 to 1958. She married Don Lotze in 1958 and during their 50 years of marriage she helped him run a family business (Lotze Enterprises) and raised two children together.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gustav Schultz and Gertrude Schultz; her husband, Donald Lotze; her brother, Ronald Schultz. She is survived by: her sisters, Julie Rutter (Ron) of Port Alberni and Myrna Amundsen (Norman) of Dryden; her daughter, Donna Kellar (Jari Makinen) of Thunder Bay; and her son, Gordon Lotze (Colleen) of Dryden, one grandson Christopher Arning (Sarah) of Thunder bay. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will take place at a later date.

    Donna and Gord: So deeply sorry for your loss. Your mom was an incredibly kind and compassionate woman with a good sense of humour. I’m grateful to have spent the afternoon with her in her last visit to Thunder Bay. Betty was loved by all who knew her

    Warm condolences to both of you, Julie and Myrna. Seeing Betty’s picture reminded me of our youth group meetings at your place, and your Mom making angel food cake, beating all those egg whites by hand! Thinking of you at this difficult time.
