Diedrich (Dick) Harder May 3, 1935 - December 5, 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandpa, and great-grandpa.

Dick grew up in Lowe Farm, Manitoba as the youngest of seventeen siblings. He moved to Dryden in 1958, where he met his wife, Anne, and they raised their family in the Dryden area. He retired from the Mill in 1995, where he continued to drive school bus. In his retirement, Dick enjoyed doing woodwork in his shop. He spent countless hours at the arena as a hockey dad and grandpa. Summers were spent camping and fishing at numerous spots throughout Northwestern Ontario.

Dick will be lovingly remembered with a smile on his face and happiest surrounded by his family. He earned the name “Mr. Good Enough”, as he was content with the simple pleasures of life. Saturday nights were spent watching the Toronto Maple Leafs with his sons. He always joked that he had to stick around until the Leafs won a Stanley Cup again.

Dick was predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Anne, and fifteen siblings.

Left to mourn his loss and carry on his memory are his sons, Richard (Linda), Rod (Heidi), his grandchildren, Kyle, Kristin (Jared), Derek, Jill (Andrew), Nick (Liz), and his great-grandchildren, Emerson, Bennett, Gunnar, Nash, and Rhett, his only remaining sibling, Phil (Cecile), and many numerous nieces and nephew.

As per Dad’s request, there will be no service. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

To the family of Dick Harder,
Although I did not know your parents well I have had the good fortune to meet Richard and Linda as well as Rod and Heidi whom I really enjoyed. This is such a hard time when our parents leave us for their heavenly destinations but they have instilled wonderful qualities in their children. My love goes out to you in this loss🙏❤️❤️❤️

Sorry to hear that your Dad/Grandpa is gone now too. I used to see him at Safeway once in awhile since Anne passed away, but since covid, had not. I hope he enjoyed his life, he certainly left a great bunch of people for us all to enjoy.
