Diane Lee Barden, age 57, of Ignace, Ontario, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Ignace. Born April 30, 1969, in Calgary, Alberta, to Cyril and Darlene (Slater), Diane will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family.

She is survived by her partner, Dale Hynes; her children, Bryan (Realeen), James (Robyn), Cory, Micheal, Stephanie, and step-son Zack; and her cherished grandchildren Noriah, Wyatt, Bennett, Jaxon, Cole, and Lincoln. Diane is also survived by her siblings Debra Lynn, James Darren (Stephanie), and Dell Shannon (Loretta). She held a special place in the lives of her aunts Candace Coleman and Ethal Jensson, and her cousins Barb, Dale, Dean, Jack and Tammy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her daughter Katie, grandpa Cyril Barden Sr. and grandma Clara Barden.

Diane’s warm spirit, strength, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Diane was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, remembered for her quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to family. Known for her trademark one-liners that could light up any room, she brought laughter and warmth to everyone she met.

A devoted animal lover, Diane cherished her pets—her two dogs, Sadie and Snop, and Tanner the cat—who were constant companions and sources of joy. She found deep fulfillment in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Together with her partner, Dale, Diane returned to Ignace from Calgary to be closer to her aging parents, reflecting the loyalty and love that guided her life. She took pride in protecting and supporting her loved ones, from looking out for her little brother, Dell, as a child to standing steadfast for her entire family as an adult.

Diane had a passion for cooking and was renowned among family and friends as the best cook—her meals and the love she poured into them will be dearly missed. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed watching Three’s Company and listening to her favorite music, simple pleasures that brought her comfort and delight.

Diane’s humor, kindness, and devotion have left an indelible mark. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate to know her.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Silver Tops. A Luncheon will follow with burial at a later date.
