It is with heavy hearts that Dorothy Ann Cooney, age 87, a resident of Ignace, Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 6, 2025 at the DRHC. Dot was born on December 28, 1937.
Dot is survived by son Billy Cooney (Marie), daughter Bonnie Sitch (Bryan), son-in-law Ron Buchan, sister Carol Cooney. Grandchildren Tasha Buchan (Jim), Tyler Buchan, Angela Rutland (Aaron), Greg Sitch, Renated Sitch, Jordan Cooney, Ryan Cooney, Mathew Cooney, Taylor Cooney, and 3 great-grandchildren that she adored so very much. She is predeceased by her husband Norman, daughter Linda Buchan, sons Patrick and Mike, as well as numerous family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Ignace New Life Church, 630 Pine St. Ignace, ON, with Pastor Tim Barker officiating. A luncheon will follow at Silver Tops.
