Walter Taylor
It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Fredrick Britton Taylor announce his sudden passing on Mar. 6, 2018.
Walter was born in Vermilion Bay on Feb. 27, 1934 and has lived there his entire life.
He lived a simple life working hard, often 2 jobs to support his family. He was jack of all trades. He could fix or build anything.
He worked for many years with his brothers, Albert and Tom, in the bush, cutting trees, operating machinery. He worked for the department of highways ploughing snow in the winter and maintaining the highways in the summer. He worked at Barr’s Esso pumping gas. He retired from Bill Reimer Trucking where he basically did whatever they needed him to do.
After retirement he stuck pretty close to home fixing lawn mowers. You could often find him at his kitchen table, drinking coffee, watching the goings on outside his window. He truly did enjoy his visits from his many friends. And he was a member of the Vermilion Bay Lions club.
Walter was predeceased by his father, Robert Taylor, mother, Alida Taylor, three sisters, Harriet Byland, Annie West & Dora Ivanowich. Two brothers, Albert & Tom Taylor. He was also predeceased by a son Rory Taylor.
Walter is survived by his remaining children who he loved and who will miss him greatly. His sons, Troy Taylor of Vermilion Bay, Todd Taylor and his partner Charlene Anderson of Vermilion Bay. And his daughter, Shauna Case and her husband Rod of Peterborough, ON. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven & Stacie Case and Cody & Colin Mireault. As well he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
