In loving memory of Violet (Vi) Renaud (nee Heiskanen), age 93 years, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 in the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Violet (or Vi) was born Vuokko Sanelma Heiskanen on March 29, 1926 in Finland. Moving to Canada as a young child, Violet found a love for the outdoors. She also found her only love of her life, Norman Renaud. She married Norm on June 8th, 1946 and they enjoyed spending their time together camping, fishing and hunting. Vi also loved to pick berries; lots and lots of berries. Never shy about her feelings, Violet was blunt and always to the point. She never took the time to “beat around the bush”.
Vi leaves behind her sister Helvi Heiskanen, her brother Aimo Heiskanen, her son-in-law Terry Korzinski of Dryden, 5 grandchildren; Kim Riddell (Duane) of Red Lake, ON, Heather Korzinski of Thunder Bay, ON, Darrel Korzinski (Yuka) of Kitchener, ON, Jonathan Renaud of Dryden, ON, and Erin Renaud (John) of Stratton, ON, and her 7 great grandchildren Megan, Lydia, Zachry, Tori, Tyra, Russell and Charlie Marie, several nieces and nephews, plus close family friends Marie Bouchard and Ella Brisson.
Vi was predeceased by her husband Norman Renaud in 1981 and both her children, Louise Korzinski in 2018, and Douglas Renaud in 2016, as well as her brother Einar Heiskanen in 2012.
