It is with heavy hearts that the family of Velma Evelyn Nesbitt announce her passing on August 31, 2021 at her home in Dryden.
Velma was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on October 7, 1933 and moved to Dryden at a very young age with her parents, Hazel and Delford Schell.
As an avid gardener, animal lover and incredible baker, Velma kept very busy supplying family with fresh garden vegetables and delicious baking but quilting was her passion with many quilts gifted to family and friends to be treasured forever.
Velma was predeceased by her first husband Art Wilson, daughter Debbie Snider, mother and father Hazel and Delford Schell, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Grace and Don Berry, Leila and Jock Ferguson, Marg and Duncan MacKinnon and nephew, John Ferguson.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 52 years Bill Nesbitt, son Marly (Heather) Wilson, daughter Shelley Davis (Remo Knecht), son Roger (Jennifer) Nesbitt, son-in-law Ken (Dusty) Snider, grandchildren Kevin Snider, Kerry (Dan) Trist, Brittany (Pat) Doherty, Tyler (Victoria) Wilson, Kristan (Samantha) Wilson, Brayden Davis, Ryan Davis, Alexa Nesbitt and Jamie Nesbitt, great grandchildren William & Moriya Trist, Paiton & Gage Wilson and Weston & Willow Doherty, brother-in-law Jack Nesbitt and sister-in-law Lorraine Nesbitt along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to send our heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and hospital staff at Dryden Regional Health Centre, as well as to Laura, Tara, and all the wonderful home care staff.
