The family of Terry “Pops” Welden of Dryden is saddened to announce his passing on March 18, 2023 at the age of 78 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Barbara (Stephen) Kennedy and Tom (Christine) Welden; grandchildren: Bradley (Nussura) Kennedy and Brittany (Anthony) Simone; sister Diane Milliard; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He enlisted in the Canadian Navy at age 17 for three years. Pops was very proud to start his career as a meter reader for Union Gas and went on to retire as Town Supervisor in Dryden. Pops never missed coffee with the boys bouncing from coffee shop to coffee shop. He had every gizmo and gadget that you could think of – if ever there was a tool that you need, Pops had it. His most recent undertaking was “Pops Daycare” where he would dog sit Tuukka while mom and dad were at work. Pops was always an animal lover and avid bird feeder. Terry was known to everyone in town as Pops.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 39 years, Bernice; and his parents: Frank and Audrey Welden.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and nurses at the Dryden Regional Health Center for their care and compassion towards Pops.
The world is a sadder place without Pops in our lives but Pops touched each and everyone of us and has left us with memories we will cherish forever.
