Sharon was born on June 17, 1956, to Douglas C. Shepherdson and Anne Marie R.C. Shepherdson in St. Boniface, MB. She was the beloved first born, followed by Doug in 1958, and Bernice in 1960.
She is predeceased by her father in 1969, mother in 2006, as well as aunts, uncles, and too many friends to mention.
Survived by her very best friend and loving partner since 1980, Robert Barrette, brother Doug (Joanne), his children Natalie, Morgan, as well as sister Bernice and her children Megan and Matthew.
After many years of fighting COPD, she passed peacefully with her husband at her side, as he has been for 46 beautiful, loving years. She leaves behind her beloved friends the Schmidts Family, Kurt, Holly, Wendy, Pam, Jeanette, friends at PRT, Mike “Pickle”, Laura, and most of all, Laine from Ignace who travelled faithfully every week no matter the weather. She was her beloved friend, confidant, and nurse.
“Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds,—and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air ….
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high un-trespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Chance Pet Network, Box 343, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1, or to the Northern Critters, Box 1023, Ignace, ON P0T 1T0

April 2, 2026 at 6:37 pmSo very sad to hear of Sharon’s passing. I have many memories of our time hanging out in high school. Timber Lanes, ouija board, always my protector. Get togethers with the girls when Sharon moved back to Dryden. Visits when she was working at Schmidt’s and reminiscing of the ole days. I’m sadden to say that all my good thoughts and intentions of visiting with her over the past years went by the wayside and for that I’m deeply sorry. So Sharon my friend, I hope you are breathing easy and look forward to hanging out again one day. To Sharon’s siblings and partner that took care of Sharon in her last years, and the other special young woman that loved her, my condolences 💐 ❤️
