Seth Eton Johanson

March 26, 1934 – April 16, 2018

Born on March 26, 1934 at his home in Eton Rugby, ON, Seth lost his hard fought battle with cancer on Monday, April 16, 2018 with his family by his side.

Seth and Loretta married in 1954 and lived and raised their family here in Dryden.

Seth worked at Groveside Dairy for 38 years and it was where he got the nickname “Sandy”. In 1996 he began work with B & M Delivery and after 16 years he finally took the step to retire in 2012. No matter if he was delivering milk or picking up your garbage, it was always done with a smile on his face. He also loved the outdoors, spending his time at camp with his family and enjoying every moment with his grand kids and great grand kids. His love of trapping also showed. From the age of 10, trapping with his dad to most recently with his own family. He was an active lifetime member of the Dryden Trappers.

Seth was predeceased by his parents; Arvid and Signe Johanson, brother; David, sister; Jean and in-laws; Tom and Josie Jackson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife; Loretta of 63 years, children; Deb (Guy) Levesque, Carey (Doug) Fitzsimmons, Patricia (Art) Wilson and Tom (Mel) Johanson, 7 grandchildren; Alain (Kate) Levesque, Jeffery (Michelle) Levesque, Brian (Rachel) Levesque, Ben (Laura) Wilson, Mathew Wilson, Dustin Hayunga and Taylor Johanson, 15 great grandchildren and his best friend – his dog Babe.

The family of Seth would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Cook, Dr. Laferriere, Dr.Davis, the DRHC Oncology Department and a huge thank you to all the nurses for their absolutely amazing and compassionate care they gave to Seth throughout his illness.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, April 20th, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
