Ruth Robinson (Johnson) April 27, 1936 - December 18, 2022

It is with great sadness, the family of Ruth Robinson (Johnson), age 86, announce her passing on Sunday, December 18, 2022, with family by her side at Princess Court in Dryden, Ontario.

Ruth was born in Sprague, Manitoba on April 27, 1936. She married her husband, Angus “Red” in 1954 in Birch River, Manitoba and moved to Ignace, Ontario in 1972. Throughout her life, Ruth loved spending time with her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many hobbies which included gardening, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, the list goes on. She was always active in the community. Along with Red, she attended many craft fairs selling ornaments, clocks, and woodworking. She was a volunteer for many years with the Canadian Cancer Society steak dinners, as well as the event organizer for the Annual Terry Fox Run. More recently, she enjoyed her phone chats with her siblings, children and grandchildren and loved her visits from family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her Son: Len; Daughters: Chris (Tony) Finn, Lee (Robbie) Ibey, and Dodi; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Allan), Jessica (Carl), Pamela, Adam (Amy), Gina-lee (Aaron), Melissa (Nathan), Kayla (Darryl), Cole (Kassandra), and Caia (Gibby); Great-grandchildren: Riley, Keeyan, Emma, Alison, Brennen, Cordell, Kendra, Redford, Miah, Tay, River, Leland, Rory, Brody, Marly, and Jeremy; Siblings: Wayne (Eileen), Leonard, and Lara (Eugene); Sisters-in-law: Clara, Nancy, and Kim; and Brother-in-law: Billy.

She is predeceased by her Parents: Otto and Ella Johnson; Husband: Angus “Red” Robinson; Daughter-in-law: Brenda; Brothers: Kon, Ben, and Lyle; Sister: Jo; and Sister-in-law: Dolly.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Bob and Gail Molloy and the staff at Princess Court in Dryden for their care and compassion.

At Ruth’s request, there will be a private family gathering at a later date.
