It is with great sadness the family of Ross Mackey announce his passing February 26, 2023, in Ignace, Ontario at the age of 71.
Ross was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec in August 1951. He was a loving husband and best friend of 40 years to Charlene (Charlie) nee Lowry, loving father to Shannon and loving grandfather to Bradley and Sienna.
Ross will be lovingly remembered by this brothers Ron (Diane), Joe (Ellie), and Richard (late Suzanne), sisters Ginny (Dave), Shirley, and Judy (Mike), in-laws Donna (Raymond), Kay (late Gary), Keith (Myrna), Margaret (Lloyd), Laura (Dave), Cheryl (Brian), Joyce (Mike), Anita (Bruce), Tina (Paul), Rhoda (Mike), and Andrea (Daniel), step brothers Mervin, Steven, and Jack, and step sisters Karen, Marlene and Cheryl, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ross was predeceased by his parents Howard and Dorothy, infant daughter Chelsea, sister Cheryl, in-laws Chilston, Evelyn and Mildred, step father Jack, brother-in-law Gary and sister-in-law Suzanne.
Ross was a caring, hard working family man. He enjoyed his time with all his family but especially his grandkids, teaching them various life skills, biking or just sitting and talking. They loved listening to his stories of his life.
He loved his career trucking and riding his motorcycle, both which took him all over Canada and the US; making friends along the way. Ross was always the biggest kid in the room and had the biggest heart. He loved to share stories of his adventures and held these memories close to his heart.
Ross enjoyed going to the coffee shop and talking with everyone, whether friend or stranger. If you were a truck driver or rode a motorcycle, there was always a conversation to be had! You could always find Ross puttering around the yard and in his shop.
Ross is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends. His memories will be cherished by all who knew him. Ross will always hold a place in our hearts.

March 5, 2023 at 7:06 pmFrom our family to yours, our deepest condolences and sympathies to Charlene, Shannon and kids on the loss of Ross in this trying time. I have been working with Ross and Charlene for a good part of my career as their advisor and they are 2 of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure of working with. In our meetings, Ross and I started to speak about travelling as we would go back-and-forth and Ross would always confirm some thing I said with, oh yeah, yes sir and then we would have a good laugh… Charlene would wait patiently for us to finish talking. His fatherly demeanour and infectious smile carried our meetings well beyond the main topic of finance, which was the best part of working with him. Ross, I will sincerely miss our meetings, but thank you for making what I do so meaningful being the person you were, and are.
May you have eternal rest my dear friend .
