It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronnelle Joy Backer (nee Toews) at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Center on Tuesday November 15th 2022, with her family by her side. She was a beacon for everyone that was lucky to have met her and have her in her life. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a wonderful and thoughtful daughter and a loving friend to so many. Her love of hockey among other interests caused great conversations and laughs. Anyone that knew her knew her sarcastic wit.
Rondi is survived by her husband Todd, her son Rylan, her father and mother Ron and Sandra Toews, brothers Trevor (Kristine, Alex, and Vicki), Shaun and Robin (Shae, Jayden, Tristan and Brett), many aunts and uncles and friends. She is also survived by mother-in-law Aime Backer (father-in-law Jean-Marc Backer 2013), sister-in-law Monica Bellerose (Todd Bellerose, niece Brooke Buonomo and Dom Buonomo), brother-in-law Mark Backer (Kelly Backer, nieces Emma and Charolette Backer).
Rest in peace Rondi!!! You will be missed!!!

She was my first employer at IGA 16 years ago and even though I was young she was always encouraging and respectful. She built my confidence at a young age. I will remember and treasure her kindness. I hope that Rylan knows that his mom had such a positive impact on so many lives.
