Robert “Bob” Clinker August 25, 1949 - February 13, 2022

Robert (Bob) William Clinker, 72 of Eagle River, ON passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre after a lengthy illness.

Bob was born in Dryden, Ontario on Aug. 25, 1949 to Fred and Mary Clinker and was raised in Fort Frances. He became a talented welder which took him from Atikokan and to Alberta. 

He met the love of his life, Karen. They spent 39 years together, farming, running a boarding kennel, raising their furbabies. He loved his schnauzers, from minis to giants.

Bob loved the outdoors.  He loved raising chickens, pigs, angus cattle, and horses. Bob was an avid moose and deer hunter and loved fishing for walleye and muskie.  

In Alberta, he worked as an industrial welder, and later started a chain link fencing company called Clinker Link Fencing where he built dog kennels both commercially and privately, including Clinker’s Kennels he and Karen operated until they moved to Eagle Lake in 2006.

Bob was a proud member of AA and was looking forward to receiving his 50 yrs coin in June of ‘22 He had many friends in both Alberta and Vermilion Bay.

Bob is survived by his wife Karen, his daughter Cheryl (Dean) Engen, grandsons Austin (McKayla), Justin (Alexa), and their children Mason and Jace, granddaughter Tiara, and step-daughter Ali (Jay). He is also survived by his brother Ernie (Lynda), sisters Janice (Robin) and Loralin and numerous nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandson Dustin, his parents Fred and Mary and his sister Betty. 

Karen would like to thank the staff on 2B at the TBRHSC for the great care Bob received in the last couple of weeks and the care he received from Dr. Viherjoki and the staff at the Dryden Regional Hospital over the last few years.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
