Richard Haukeness December 5, 1946 - July 7, 2019

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to dcfh@drytel.net subject heading: Haukeness

In loving memory of Richard Edwin Haukeness who passed away peacefully at DRHC with his family by his side.

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra, daughters Sherri (Todd) of Dryden, ON and Melanie of Wetaskiwin, AB, son Tyler of Dryden, ON, 2 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter, mother June Plomp of Dryden, ON and brother Leonard of Logan Lake, BC.

Richard was predeceased by his father Haakon, brother Vernon and granddaughter Taylor.

Richard was an avid outdoors man. He loved to go fishing and hunting and was the Secretary for the Conservation Club. He truly enjoyed nature. He would sit on his deck overlooking his property and watch all the birds and animals go by. Sometimes he would even bring some wildlife home, like a snapping turtle or an injured seagull. Often times he would bring home stray dogs or cats and sometimes even stray people. He had a big heart and wanted to help anything and anyone as much as he could.

He enjoyed his work very much. He started out driving a logging truck for the mill and also worked with mines to get them going. He had the opportunity to travel from coast to coast with his jobs. Later, he became a Refrigeration Technician which he retired from. He was a very hardworking man.

When he wasn’t working or relaxing at home with Sandra and nature, you would often find him at his old stomping grounds, the P.I., having a few casual drinks with his friends.

Richard will be missed by many.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life with interment will take place at a later date.
