It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Phil Woods. On October 4, 2026, we know the love of his life Sandy welcomed him with open arms as they reunite. Phil was a loving father, cherished papa, brother, uncle and friend.
Phil was a man with a big heart and an even bigger love for his family. Family was the heart of who Phil was. No distance was ever too far when it came to family. Phil would travel the countryside to visit the people he cared about, always making the effort to be there and create memories.
Phil will be lovingly remembered by his children Heather (Ron) Grunewald and Brenda Kellar. His grandchildren Steven (Danae) Grunewald, Michael Grunewald, Talyssa Kellar and Zakary Kellar (Kaitlyn) and great granddaughters Harper and Kinsley Grunewald.
Phil took great pride in being a big brother. He treasured the bond he shared with his siblings and loved spending time with them and their families. He will be greatly missed by his siblings Louise (Bill) Mann, Gerald (Lynda) Woods, Sharon (Tom) Forrest and Dennis (Brenda) Woods His sisters- and brother-in-law. Luana (Elgin), Linda (Marvin), Raymond (Karen) and Shirley as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Phil had many things he loved in life. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts, and watching his Blue Jays. He was a proud and devoted supporter of the local Dryden Ice Dogs, following the team wherever they went and cheering them on every step of the way. Hockey was a big part of the memories he made and the joy he shared with others.
His family takes comfort in knowing that the love Phil gave so freely will continue through the generations. His memory will live on in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and all those whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life for the man we love so much will be at a later date.
The family invites you to honour Phil’s memory through a donation to the Dryden Go Getters, 84 St. Charles St. Dryden, ON P8N 1L8. A gift in his name would be a meaningful way to continue the spirit of kindness and love that he shared with others.
