It is with utmost sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear granddaughter, niece, cousin, auntie and mother Nina Aileen May Thompson.  She is predeceased by her grandfathers Steven Keeash and Maio Quequish, her parents Samanus Keeash and Roger Thompson and her only sister, Stephanie Keeash, uncles Clifford and Elijah Keeash, aunt Rosalie, cousins Evan Wesley and David Winter and other numerous family members.

She leaves to mourn her grandmother/mom Caroline Keeash, father of her children Brandon and their children Charleigh-Ann, Thomas and Jasper, Uncles: Zeb (Darlene), Jim (Corrine), Bernie (Sandra), Thomas (Mary Ann)  and Donald; Aunties:  Veronica, Dorothy and Denise (Micheal),  Cousins: Desiree (Sierra and baby Asher, Dayna, Aries), Krista (Tony, Saphyre, Dennis, April and Kristopher), Kerry, Joseph, Jermaine, Skye, Hope, Dewey, Emery,  Marlene (Jarome), Maddux, Mason, Jaden, Phoenix, Terron, Kiah, Dalyce and Uriah, and extended family too numerous to mention.

Also survived from her father’s side of the family: Uncles: Fred Thompson, Phillip (Linda) Thompson, and Karl Thompson, and Auntie: Clara Voth.  She is predeceased by her uncles: Clifford, Bruce, Lymn, Dan, and auntie Emily.  Also surviving are her cousins: Kevin, Roberta, Leonard, Nick, Angie, Brenda, Warren, Tiffany, Lyndsey, Mike, Andy, Clayton, and other numerous family members.

Nina was born and raised in Dryden, Ontario. After losing both parents, her maternal grandparents Steven and Caroline raised Nina along with her sister Stephanie. She was very hurt when she lost her only sister but strived to continue living.

At a young age, she became very fluent in Oji-cree which allowed her to converse with her grandparents.  She loved learning, reading, singing, and going to youth camps. She grew up with all her cousins throughout her life and was especially close to Marlene as they were two days apart. She had a special bond with her auntie Denise because she took her under her wings when she became a teenager. When she became a mother herself, she was very devoted and loving to her three children.  She was a kind, compassionate and a courageous woman.  She was loving to everyone she met and always had the brightest smile in the room.

A Wake Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Gary Quequish and Brent Schrock officiating.

Interment will follow at the Dryden Cemetery beside her grandfather and uncles.
