Melvin Ross August 3, 1940 - November 24, 2023

Our beloved father Melvin Ross died in peace at Princess Court Long Term Care on November 24, 2023, at the age of 83.

Melvin is survived by his children: Allan (Cecilia) Ross, Cheryl Ross and Todd Ross, siblings: Maxine (Len), Rita, and John, grandchildren: Paul and Laura, great-granddaughter Hailey, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Sadie Ross and siblings: Ernie, Shirley, Jean, James, and Kenny. He was also predeceased by his wife Sue of 59 years. They met when she was just 17 and married in 1960.

Melvin had a long career at the Dryden Mill starting in 1958 and retiring in 2003 as a papermaker. He also worked at Besyk’s Auto Wrecking and KB Body Shop on his days off.

Melvin loved being outside fishing, camping and especially garage saling. He would visit any garage sale he could to find the best deals. He enjoyed fixing up these items to sell again! He would plan for his yearly week-long garage sale by getting his yard ready and setting up the camper. He would buy and sell almost anything and made good money at it. He was also very mechanical and loved to tinker on small machines or anything that needed fixing.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Ross family. Mel was a great man, respected by so many who were able to work beside him. His work ethic was untouchable. He and Sue have prepared Allen, Cheryl, and Todd for life without them and leave so many fond memories for them to reflect on.
