Jean Marc Couture 1946-2018

Peacefully on Wednesday November 7th, 2018, Marc Couture left us for his next journey.

He leaves behind, wife Joan, daughters Nicole Boyd (Dennis Boyd), Keri Reimer, grandchildren Cody Reimer, Ashlan Reimer, Brooklyn and Falon MacKenzie, brothers Pierre and Roger Couture, sisters Fleurette Couture and Pat Ethier along with many nieces and nephews he loved. He was predeceased by his parents, bothers Bob Couture, Richard Couture and son Rob Couture.

Marc will be surely missed by his many friends whom he made in his life. His smile, stories and sharing of information was heard by everyone he encountered. A man who felt the need to give you a firm hand shake, a deal you can’t pass up, and the biggest hug you’ve even had.  Marc sold cars for 20 years and was a business man at heart. This passion of sales led him to his next journey in the sales industry which was becoming the proud owner of Bar C Western Shop in Steinbach for ten years. He welcomed so many new faces into the horse world, and along with the passion of making deals on tack you may not have even needed ? When his health started to fail, the business was sold.  Marc loved everything about talking with people and was a social butterfly. Selling the tack shop was difficult for him as this was his social life and developed so many incredible friends through them.

Marc loved his family, making sure there was always a good horse to ride and a 3-wheeler to drive. That love for his passions never left and he always loved to watch Nicole and his grand daughters ride (with so much pride).  He took the time to teach both his daughters how to drive vehicles down the dirt roads in Marchand. The kids never understood why they had to go for long drives, slowly, painfully slowly, but he wanted them to see the country and take in all the nature around them. This made his heart happy, watching his children learning to drive the country roads and embrace the world. Marc truly loved nature, and everything it offered.

Marc and his wife Joan moved to Dryden in 2006. Together they enjoyed quading on the beautiful trails Northwestern Ontario has to offer. They met so many great people in Dryden, Marc was always up to talking about horses, quads or motorcycles anytime, with anyone.

He was grateful for all the friends from near and far who took the time to visit with him as his health struggles became deeper.

Marc wanted a celebration of his life, a time for friends and family to gather with peace in their hearts, a time to share stories, a place to gather, eat butter tarts, and give a hug.   As per Marcs wishes, there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.  There will be a celebration if Marcs life on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Free Methodist Church on Van Horne Ave with Pastor Doug Wightman officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
