Janet Elizabeth Ankney was born in Atikokan, Ontario on December 15, 1950 of her parents Ted and Trixie Hebditch, and passed away on March 30, 2022 in Dryden, Ontario while in Palliative Care in the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Many thanks to the Doctors and Nurses who took such good care of Janet while resting there. Your gentle kindness will always be appreciated.
Her husband, Barry, will forever miss his beautiful better half. Also left to mourn Janet are her son, Rick (Kira) with granddaughters Mikaela and Emma as well has her daughter, Christine Petrie.
Janet enjoyed her life for the most part but struggled with her condition of Huntington’s Chorea with a valiant acceptance and dignity to the end.
Sadly she succumbed to the relentless progression and is now with her Lord Jesus in heaven.

Rick and I are saddened to hear of Janet’s passing. Janet and I worked together for many years in the libraries of the local public schools, and she was a dedicated, knowledgeable colleague. I will miss her quiet and gentle nature.
The Beddome/Ankney families have a long history and I particularly remember a visit you and Janet made to mom and dads home on Goodall Street. Janet and I had a visit in the sunroom with mom while you helped dad with some electrical issue. Janet’s condition was worsening and Barry, your dedication to Janet’s well being was so evident. Sadly, that was one of the last times I saw Janet as distance and Covid interfered with our Dryden visits.
Thinking of you and your family and sending our deep felt sympathies.
Cheryl and Rick Victor
