In sadness we announce the passing of our dear brother Maurice Gregory Davies (Tuffy) on August 13, 2021.
To my father’s delight Greg (Tuffy) was born January 22, 1954 to Don and Doris Davies. He was the middle child with two older sisters and two younger sisters.
Greg worked as a labourer with the International Brotherhood of Labourers Union across Canada far and wide making friends wherever he was. He was witty and loved to hear a good story and share many of his own with those that needed a good laugh.
His best job ever was the work he accomplished at the family camp on Basket Lake, improving it for his sisters and extended family.
Greg will be missed by sisters; Sherrill Davies (Ben Foster), Merrilee Giesbrecht (Rendal), Heather Rostek (Andy) and Vicki-Lou Shoguchi (Guy). He is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and a long list of buddies.
He will be missed by Sue Lix of Thunder Bay who shared his love of life and the joy of his dreams at camp fishing and sharing time together.
Special thanks to Marcel and Marilyn Turpin, Dr. Bester and the staff at DRHC for their care and compassion, and to family and friends as they help us through this difficult time.
Greg (Tuffy) loved fishing, hunting, playing cribbage and watching his favourite soap (Days of Our Lives) and listening to his tunes. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved to chat with his pals over a cold one. He spent most of his winter and summer days out at our family camp where he loved to share his fishing and hunting spots with many. He lived, laughed and loved Basket Lake. We will miss him immensely.

December 10, 2021 at 4:28 pmTuffy, you and I got into good trouble. The endless crib games in all varieties.
The pops and laughs. We never got anything done but we had so much fun.
Have the cards shuffled for when I go!
