It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Emil George Kobelka. Emil passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Emil was born on October 14, 1940, in Birch River, Manitoba to George and Mary Kobelka. Emil grew up in Cochenour, Ontario, spending time in Bowsman, Manitoba with his Grandparents on their farm, where he loved to be.
Emil met his wife, Helen of 63 years while going to high school in Red Lake, ON. They married in 1961 and had four children together. The family settled in Vermilion Bay, ON in 1974, where Emil and Helen lived for the past 50 years. Emil was a multi-talented man and worked at various jobs throughout his life. He retired in his early 60’s and enjoyed spending time on his property, gardening, feeding and watching the birds, working on his yard and just enjoying being outside. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom and berry picking. Emil was extremely talented musically and could pick up any instrument and learn to play it by ear. Emil loved his family and spent as much time with them as he could.
