Darwin Langford March 6, 1955 - March 29, 2024

James Darwin Langford passed away on March 29, 2024 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with family by his side.

Darwin was born in Thessalon on March 6, 1955 to Burton and Marjorie Langford. He grew up in Blind River but moved to Northwestern Ontario to begin what would be a long career with Bell Canada.

Loving the outdoors, Darwin enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He looked forward to annual hunting adventures with his son, Jared, and friends, particularly his buddy, Greg Samsal. With health issues prevailing in recent years, Darwin was unable to make it out to the bush as often as he would have liked, but the memories remained.

Also holding a special place in Darwin’s heart, was his neighbourhood gang. He often recanted stories of their many get-togethers.

Darwin was pre-deceased by his father and survived by many, including his mother, Marjorie Langford, sister, Janet (Mehrdad) Azhadi, son, Jared (Danielle) Langford and daughter, Becky (Bryan) Sigurdson. He is also survived by his nieces, Sarah (Aaron) Lannin and Jessica (Adam) Richter.

Darwin will be missed by his grandchildren, Lucy, Fletcher and Andie Sigurdson, along with his great-nieces, Amelia and Vivian Lannin and great-nephews, Morry and Freddy Richter.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Darwin’s family encourages all friends to enjoy a drink for him as no service will be held.

Jared and Becky, I am so sorry for your loss of your dad. He was a great man and I have many good memories with your Dad as we started our journey together at the Bell. JD and I lived together and worked together in Dryden and had built many memories in the Oxdrift trailer. We had many good times which I will remember forever. He will be missed! I will raise a glass to my good friend. Cheers JD.
