Connie Gamble February 6, 1937 - March 27, 2025

Constance (Connie) Doreen Gamble

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother (Omah) on March 27, 2025, at the age of 88, following challenging health issues in recent years. Connie was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Mary Wilton, her husband Manley, her sister Areta (Rita) Northcott and nephew Travis Northcott.

Connie was born in Dryden, Ontario to Charlie and Mary Wilton and spent her life enjoying all the things close to her heart.  In 1955 she married Manley Gamble, and they moved to the family farm in Oxdrift ON.  She spent the next 70 years on the farm until her death.  She was a strong, independent and hard-working woman.  Together she and Manley worked the family farm, owned and ran their own school bus company and at the same time ran and operated their contracting business.  Following Manleys sudden death in 1973, she began to work at the Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Center in the warehouse until her retirement.

In the years following Manleys death she found love and companionship with her lifelong partner Curtis Lovgren.  Together they enjoyed 40 years together, spending as much time as they could at their property on Rugby Lake, travelling across Canada and through parts of the USA.  Her greatest pride was spoiling her grandchildren with knitted sweaters, special musical toys and her famous cinnamon buns.

Connie is survived by her children Greg Gamble (Gale) and Sharlaine Johnson (Ernie); by her grandchildren Joelle Doubrough (Joe), Brent Gamble (Kylee) Alison Curran (Cameron), Connor Johnson (Lhasaja) and Brandy Johnson (Stephen) along with her great grandchildren Ivy and Hazel Doubrough and Ava and Walker Johnson, and Lucy and Manley Gamble.  She will also be sadly missed by her extended families, nieces and nephews, close friends and especially her amazing neighbors who always asked about or looked out for Connie because of her strong will to stay on the farm right to the end of her life.

A Private family celebration of life will be held for the immediate family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Connies’ name may be made to the DRHC Dialysis Unit, PO Box 3003, Dryden ON, P8N 2Y8 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Special thanks to Dr. Moir, Dr. Bester. Dr Doiron, Dr. Viherjoki, Dr. Pettinger, and all the staff at the DRHC for providing the best of care throughout Connie’s journey. It is also very important to recognize the commitment and magnificent care provided by Homecare and the PSW’s that visited regularly.
