It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, great-grandfather, grandfather, and uncle Klaas Meyer on September 2, 2026, at the Dryden Regional Hospital with family by his side.
Born in Wildervank, Netherlands (Holland) on August 25, 1934, to Jan and Dieverdina Meyer. He immigrated with his family to Nolalu, Ontario in 1952. Klaas was married to Seida Lilla for a lifetime of beautiful memories. He worked as an electrician for the Dryden Pulp Paper Mill and retired after many years of service as an electrical supervisor respected by many.
Klaas loved to fish, especially at the family cottage on Cedar Lake, Ontario. Another passion of his was carpentry work in which he was very successful at, especially building his own house. He loved his family greatly and had a special sparkle in his eye for his great-granddaughter Kiera Blanchard that brought many joyous moments to his life.
Left two mourn is his daughter Lisa (Rob) Rezka, great-granddaughter Kiera Blanchard, and numerous other grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Jane Somerton, sister-in-law Sandra Meyer, nieces Diana Campbell, Kathleen Smith, Janine Letwin, Jennifer Shumanski, nephews David Meyer, and Christopher Kitzan.
Predeceased by his wife Seida Meyer, son John Meyer, parents Jan and Dieverdina Meyer, brother John Meyer, parents-in-law Alex and Ilma Lilla, and brother-in-law Wilho Ahola.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.
