Shawna Chapman June 26, 1964 - April 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawnalee Lynn Chapman, (Hoffstrom) on April 9th 2026 at the age of 61. She battled her disease (ALS) with courage, strength, determination and bravery until her passing. She is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband Dave Chapman who predeceased in 2020.

She took great pride in her family. Cherished daughter of Dorothy Gingras (Duke), Darrel Hoffstrom (predeceased). Stepdaughter of John Gingras (predeceased) and Cindy Hoffstrom.  Sister to Kieth Hoffstrom and Wendy Hoffstrom. Niece to Herman and Jeannie Labelle, Jean and Polly Labelle, James Labelle (predeceased) Joanne and Richard Broullette, Lawrence and Suzette Labelle, Carol Youngash (predeceased), Bob and Barb Hoffstrom. Mom of Destiny Lendrum (Pollock) and Kiera Pollock.  GMA to Lexie McKend and Easton Lendrum.  Aunt to Bobby Hoffstrom.

Shawna was a care giver at heart. Taking care of her aunt Carol Youngash and husband Dave Chapman who both passed from terminal cancer. She was always putting others’ needs before her own.

Shawna lived a vibrant and colorful life. She had a unique sense of humor that was like no other. Her spunky personality left an imprint on all those who were blessed to cross her path.  She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed going to community teas, cake walks and markets. Some of her favorite pass times include volunteering at the second chance pet shelter, cat cuddling, watching the birds and chipmunks, nature walking, blueberry picking, fishing, traveling, playing board games, games on the computer, Facebook, puzzles, thrifting, garage sailing, seeking out new adventures, watching nostalgic movies and tv shows. She had a lifelong love for photography.

Shawna had many collections including fairies, cats and costume jewelry. These collections provided her with an abundance of joy, and she showcased them throughout her home.

A special message from mom “I was there the day you came into this world, and I was lucky enough to be there holding your hand when you left” Shawna will be greatly missed by Everyone.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada, 180 Bloor Street West, Suite 500, Toronto, ON M5S 2V6 or to the Second Chance Pet Network, Box 343, Dryden, ON P8N 2Z1
