It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lewis Alexander Fisher on April 16, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born on May 28, 1964, Lewis lived a life defined by strength, adventure, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He was the centre of his family’s universe—the one everyone turned to, the one who could fix anything, and the one who made life feel steady, safe, and full.
Lewis spent many years working at the Dryden Mill before pursuing an opportunity as a heavy-duty mechanic. His work took him across Canada, including the Northwest Territories, the Yukon, British Columbia, and Alberta. He took great pride in his skills and the life he built through hard work and dedication, eventually retiring from Miller in 2025.
Lewis was a proud and loving father and grandfather. His daughters, Brittney (Richard Landrie) and Mikayla (Colton Van Bastelaere), were the pride of his life. He was a fiercely devoted grandfather to Aurora, Piper, Colbie, and Axl, each of whom held a very special place in his heart. His love for his grandchildren was unconditional.
To his beloved wife, Jennifer, Lewis was everything. They met on July 15, 2012, and from that day forward built a life filled with laughter, passion, and unwavering love. They were married on July 15, 2017, and in their nearly 14 years together, they lived what felt like a hundred lifetimes. Lewis was not only her partner, but her greatest teacher—showing her how to truly live, how to fish, and hunt, and how to embrace joy and spontaneity in every moment.
He had a deep passion for travel and adventure. Together, they explored nearly every country in Central America, always chasing the next horizon, with plans to visit the final two this spring. They shared unforgettable experiences—marlin and sailfish fishing, scuba diving in breathtaking places and creating memories that will last forever.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Brittney (Richard Landrie) and Mikayla (Colton Van Bastelaere); his grandchildren, Aurora, Piper, Colbie, and Axl; his father, Alexander Fisher; his sister, Jackie Tilley (Jim); his brother, Brett Fisher (Sheri); his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roy and Simone Diana; his sister-in-law, Joelle Macey (John); many nieces and nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him fondly.
He was predeceased by his mother, Georgina Fisher, in 2012, his Great nephew, Blake McFarlane and Nephew Travis Giertuga.
He will be remembered as a truly remarkable man—strong, generous, capable, and full of life. A man who gave deeply, loved fiercely, and left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
The family would like to thank the OPP and EMS for their compassion and support.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Brian Callewaert officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2300 Yonge St. Suite 1200, Box 2414, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4
