Marjorie Councillor June 5, 1958 - February 19, 2022

With sad and heavy hearts, the family of Marjorie Daisy Councillor announce her passing on February 19, 2022 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

Marjorie is survived by her son Joel “Spike” Councillor of Eagle Lake First Nation, sister Grace Kakeway of Kenora and grandchildren Raven Councillor, Kane Councillor, Alicia Day and Leroy Fiddler. Marjorie also leaves behind her special friend of 10 years Earl Skead of Kenora along with numerous cousins from Eagle Lake First Nation and Kenora area.

Marjorie is predeceased by Joseph Perreault (common-law husband), and parents Doreen Kakeway (Ogemah)(mother) and Peter Abraham (father). She is also predeceased by her son Christopher Councillor and siblings Doris Ogemah, Freddy Kakeway, Stewart Kakeway, Mervin Ogemah, Jessie Ogemah and Julia Ogemah.

Marjorie was born in the Kenora area and settled in Eagle Lake First Nation after she met Joseph Perreault. Majorie loved listening to music and dancing. She also enjoyed watching movies and beading. Majorie was always kind and had a smile for anyone she met. She could often be found enjoying visits with her cousins, Margaret Gardner (Kwetet), and Virginia Meawasige, and will be missed dearly.
