On Sunday evening, Gail’s Lord and Saviour called her from this earthly home to her new Heavenly home to spend eternity with Him. Gail passed away peacefully at the DRHC with her family by her side.
She will be forever missed by her children; Shane (Lois), Jeanine (Cam) McGeachy, Shaunda (Dale) Green and Christian (Wendy). A loving “Nana” to Mike (Victoria), Tom (Krys), Peter (Taylor), Brendon, Mariah (Tano), Dillon (Madi), Elisa and Mitchell. Nana was also privileged to be able to welcome her eighth great-grandchild into this world. Gail was also considered “My Dryden Mom” to Debbie Fletcher.
Gail also leaves to mourn her brother Cory (Velma) Henderson and family, sister-in-law Violet (Roy) Lindquist and family as well as her many nieces and nephews from the Bousfield, Mawby and Laverdure families.
She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Lillian Henderson, husband Duncan and sister and brother-in-law Delores and Fred Bousfield.
Gail was born in Dryden and remained here all her life. She attended the Britton School and Dryden High School and then went on to the Success Commercial College in Winnipeg. She was employed at the Royal Bank in Dryden after graduation where she worked until starting her family.
On November 23, 1957 Gail married Duncan Mawby with whom she shared 40 wonderful years.
Between married life and raising her family, Gail became very involved with the Dryden Full Gospel Church. She spent time teaching Sunday School, organizing and participating in various church functions and also volunteering for community services – the most recent being “Meals On Wheels”. Gail was always looking for ways to “serve”. Her Christian faith was her “foundation”. As the old song says “A wise man builds his house upon the rock” – well Gail was solid!
Gail was a “hugger” and those who knew her would surely receive one! There was nothing better to make you feel loved and cherished!! Much of her time, especially the last 20 years, was spent praying, encouraging, uplifting and showing God’s love to others. Many of Gail’s friends and acquaintances have reached out to us over the past few months and have shared with us words of encouragement about how Mom had impacted and enriched their lives. Thank you for this.

January 28, 2022 at 12:38 amDear Mawby family.
We are thinking of you all during this time of deep sorrow. Your mom, was an angel that walked among us. She was the most devoted, gentled natured & caring person ever. Her warm smile and thoughtfulness touched the hearts of so many over the years. Her legacy will live on through your hearts.
Our family has been blessed by Gail’s friendship. We cherish many treasured memories of Gail. I remember being so pleasantly surprised to discover that after 30 years, she had kept her brides maid hat from Danny & Lucy’s wedding. I know that Lucy welcomed her long time friend Gail’s visits throughout her illness. As for Ray & I, I will always remember the special bond we shared as she unexpectedly (through odd circumstances), happened to meet our daughter’s biological mother.
May the memories warm your hearts and the support of those around ease your grief.
Sending you all sympathy and caring thoughts your way ❤️

I will treasure many memories of Gail. I can remember being pleasantly surprised to discover at Danny & Lucy’s 30th Anniversary that she had kept her brides maid pink hat. As for Ray & I, we shared a special secret when we discovered that through odd circumstances, Gail met our daughter’s biological mother. Gail never complained through her hardships and pain. She was always there for others. Gail’s warm smile, gentle nature and the love she sprinkled in the world around her will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live on through her family.
May the memories warm your hearts and the support of those around you ease your grief.
Sending you sympathy and hugs of friendship

I were saddened to hear of Gail’s passing. She will always be remembered in my heart as the sweet lady of God who was so kind to my parents (Muriel and Everett) and also our MacKenzie family during their final years. Your dear Gail is with them now in Glory and one day we will reunite. Gail told me many times ‘I am just a call away’ and I knew she meant it. Thank you Gail for the love you shared!
