Beverley Parsons September 15, 1941 - October 19, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Beverley. She passed away at the DRHC on October 19th 2021 with family by her side.

Beverley was born in Dryden Ontario where she lived the majority of her life, with some very young years being spent in Ignace living with the Durfey family. It was while living in Ignace that she met her future husband Gary Parsons. The two spent a few years while a young married couple living in Winnipeg. Before finally settling in Dryden. She enjoyed being a stay at home mother, volunteering for many different school functions over the years and then later participating in her Granddaughter Rachel’s baseball league. Gardening, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and fishing trips were also some favourite activities. She is probably more known for her love of knitting, many things from baby items, such as loopy outfits to ski sweaters or her baking. With her butter tarts being the favourite and most requested item.  Her late Aunts Ruby Whitten and Mabel Harvey taught her many things in the kitchen, which resulted in several often used recipes that continue to be passed down and shared today.  She found pleasure in taking baking to several different residents at Patricia Gardens over the course of many years. She enjoyed cooking for immediate family as well as many times for her late Uncle Johnny Mac (John McArthur). In her more recent years she was happy to let others do the cooking, especially enjoying invites from Granddaughter Rachel’s in-laws Jim and Jackie Tilley for dinners, which also included invites from them to all holiday functions. Most also know of her love of all animals, but especially dogs and was never without at least one rescue dog at a time.

A special thank-you to Ann and Trevor at Second Chance for their compassion with everything from lack of charging expenses for many weeks, to the treatment of Beverley’s dog Tally and ensuring her that she wouldn’t be released to just any home.

Beverley is survived by her daughter Wendy Parsons (Rob), granddaughters Rachel Brown (Jimmy), Toni Riley and her adopted by choice granddaughter Crystal Coates, great-grandchildren Masaya, James and Bentley, Uncle Dave Whitten and Uncle Carmen Morton and her beloved Dog Sam as well as many cousins and friends.

She is predeceased by her Husband Gary, daughter Sheila and her parents John & Addie Morton as well as many loved Aunts and Uncles.

Cremation has taken place. Due to current covid restrictions a private service will take place at a later date for close relatives and friends.

Leave a Condolence
