Johannes “John” Mulders February 16, 1943 - March 8, 2020

In memory of John B.J. Mulders (Retired) Justice of the Peace of the Ontario Court of Justice who died at Princess Court in Dryden, at the age of 77, on March 8, 2020.

John was born in Montreal, Quebec on February 16, 1943. He was the son of the late Dr. John H.G. Mulders and his wife Jane Tangelder.

He was raised on the island of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles and returned to Canada upon his father’s retirement in 1955.

John lived in Eastern Ontario for a number of years and is where he married his wife Beverley in Prescott on July 27, 1963. Being blessed with three children, the family lived and worked in the Ottawa area until 1986 when they moved to Northwestern Ontario.

Law enforcement and the courts took up a majority of John’s working career. In 1993 he was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice as a Justice of the Peace. John was well known for his involvement in the church, particularly his singing. He officiated numerous weddings and funeral services in the area.

His family was most important to him and together with his wife Beverley, enjoyed many hours with their children and precious grandchildren. All of them made his life complete and blessed.

John was predeceased by his parents; John and Jane and his wife Beverley. Left to mourn are his children; Daphne (Bill) Cameron of Dryden, John- Emile (Nea) Mulders of Dryden and Heidi (Scott) Ellery of Eton Rugby. He’ll also be sadly missed by his dear grandchildren; Taylor, Mackenzie, Shelby and Tyson as well as his sister Ann Stewart and her family of Montreal.

The family would like to thank the staff and management at Princess Court for all the great care given to Dad over the years.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Alan Campeau officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date.
