Steven Turpin October 9, 1977 - July 16, 2023

Date of Funeral

July 29, 2023

In a state of shock and deep sorrow, the family of Steven Rodney Turpin announce his sudden passing.

Steven attended Sprucedale, Oxdrift and Dryden High School. Right out of high school, he started working for his dad at Turpins Service and Storage. He went on to complete his apprenticeship and achieve his mechanics licence there. Eventually, when Rod was ready to retire, he and his wife Tennille purchased the shop and ran it as a team. He had an impeccable reputation as a mechanic that you could trust to get the job done professionally for a fair price.

Steven was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He was always in pursuit of a monster. In recent years, he was less concerned in conquering for himself and dedicated his efforts to guiding his daughter to become a skilled hunter to carry on his legacy.

Steven truly lived life to the fullest. His family was everything. He loved Christmas. Christmas was a very long day because he had to see everybody. He was a generous man that would give you the shirt of his back.

He is survived by his cherished wife Tennille, daughters Kira and Reece to whom he was the “best dad in the world”, his parents Rod and Debby Turpin, brother Brian (Laura) Turpin and his children Atleigh and Karstin, sister Chrystal Kellar (Mike) and their children Blakely and Brielle, grand-parents Rheal and Shirley Turpin, and Marg Martin. Mother and father-in-law Wendy and Keith Irvine, sisters-in-law Chevonne Hodges and her children Halle, Jake, and Brandy Irvine. We mustn’t forget Gunner who is still looking for dad to come home. Steven was pre-deceased by grandpa Al Martin.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dryden & District Agricultural Centre with Pastor Jake Letkeman officiating.

Cremation to follow.

My heart is broken with the news of Steve’s passing. He had such a beautiful smile, was always willing to help me with my vehicle issues and so pleasant. I called him my Vehicle Doctor. He was a talented mechanic and loved his wife and kids. What a tragedy to lose this man. Sending heart felt condolences to those he has left behind to try to deal with life as it continues on. Tennille and the girls will always have a piece of him in their hearts. He won’t be forgotten. He will be always be with you in spirit and we will always miss him. Thoughts and prayers.

Sincere sympathy to the Turpin family, especially Stephen’s parents. The loss of a child at any age is a profound grief.
I received excellent service at “Turpin’s” while I lived in Dryden. I follow the news, including the obituaries and read with sadness the loss of your son–also a husband, dad and brother.
May you find peace and comfort in your memories and with your grandchildren.
