Shirley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her side. She leaves behind her sister Julie; Daughter Lori (Chad); and her son Mark Jantzen (Terri); Grandchildren: Amanda (Thomas), Megan, Madison (Jayden), Stephane (Arianna); and her beloved great-grandchildren: Naomi, and Blaire.
Shirley was born on March 24, 1946, in Fort France, Ontario. Shirley graduated high school in 1965 and worked in Dryden, Ontario. She spent her nursing career working at the hospital, then later becoming a stay-at-home mom raising her two children. Later, Shirley returned to work for The Dryden Clinic, ending her career and retiring from The Dingwall Medical Clinic. She loved spending time with her family, baking, listening to the old country, gardening, crafting, fishing, camping, winemaking, having Sunday family dinners, and being with her late husband John.
Mom, Memo, and Sister, you are now at peace, with John, and out of pain. It is not goodbye but a see you soon. We love you and will miss you forever, you will not be forgotten.
Shirley’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the efforts and care in the final hours of Shirley’s life that the staff of DRHC have given her. Especially to Sara, you gave us comfort in the time we needed comfort and peace.
