With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Sheila Marie Angeconeb (nee Blake), on December 12th, 2023.  She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.  Sheila was the beloved wife of Gordon Angeconeb for 36 years, devoted mother to Blake (Danielle Morrison) and Brendan (Larissa Hutton), and cherished grandmother to Evie, Joseph and Animkii.

Sheila was the beloved daughter of Fred and Marion Blake of Temagami and a loving sister to Vicky (Rob Sanderson), Brenda (Tommy Kester), and Shelly (Henry Charette).  She was the treasured daughter-in-law to the late David and Mary Angeconeb and fun-loving sister-in-law to the late Harry, Garnet (Margaret), Ron (Judy), Florence Sanderson (Wesley), and Rick (Lana).  She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and a multitude of cherished friends, each holding a special place in her heart.

As a devoted educator, Sheila’s passion for teaching touched many lives. She retired originally in June of 2021, and returned to Lac Seul for one final stint before retiring in June of 2023.

Sheila was an avid outdoor enthusiast who found joy in cross-country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, swimming, fat biking, kayaking and the athletic sports of pickleball and golf.  Her prowess in these activities was an inspiration to many.

Sheila was a remarkable lady, full of laughter and always looking for adventure.  She saw good in everything and everyone and was loved by all who knew her.  Her family meant the world to her, and she enjoyed all family gatherings and visits.  She will be greatly missed but her memories will remain with us forever.

Sheila’s vibrant spirit, love for adventure, and unwavering dedication to education and to those she loved will forever be celebrated and deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dryden Senior’s Activity Centre, 84 St. Charles Street, Dryden, ON on Saturday, December 16th, at 3:00 p.m. with Mardi Plomp officiating. Family and friends will gather to honour and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
