Ron Woolner (1939-2025), passed away peacefully, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 86.
He was the son of the late Orval and Rose Woolner. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Woolner. He is also survived by his brother Murray and Nancy Woolner, sister Judy Kennedy, children Robin and Marites Woolner, Dawn and Paul Boucher, Sherry and Robert Lahaie and Tanya and David Marshall. He had six grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Ron loved his family as well as fishing, hunting, and his dogs over the years. He loved his career in mining as well as his small business, Capt. Ron’s, a fish and chip truck in Ignace, which he started after retirement. Ron also enjoyed other activities such as curling, golfing, and he was a proud Legion member for numerous years.
Ron is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends. His memories will be cherished by all who knew him.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of Ron.
