In loving memory of Robert ‘’Bob’’ Savage, age 52, who passed away suddenly in Thunder Bay, Ontario following a brief illness.
Bob is survived by his children Zack of Toronto, Josh of Oxdrift, Jessica Lee and Nicole Nguyen of Thunder Bay and his mother Marie Savage. Also left to mourn are his brother Pierre (Claudine), nephews and niece Philippe, Maxime and Dominique Savage and Colinda, Cody and Colton Mair. He will also be forever remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and acquaintances. He is preceded in death by his daughter Marissa, wife Barb and father Guy.
Bob was born and raised in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. In 1990, he graduated from the Funeral Services Education Program at Humber College. He lived and worked in the Oakville area before being offered the opportunity to move to Dryden in 1995 to become the Funeral Director for the Dryden Community Funeral Home. Over the span of his career and his involvement in various organizations, Bob became a well-known and respected member of his community and the surrounding area. He will be remembered by many for his professionalism and for his personal and attentive care for the families who entrusted their loved ones to him in their time of sorrow.
Bob had always been an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, trapping and gardening. He was an accomplished trapper and enjoyed sharing his passion with others as an instructor and trainer for the Fur Harvest, Fur Management and Conservation Course and he was proud to be a member of the Dryden Trapper’s Council. He was previously involved with the Knights of Columbus, the Dryden Loyal Order of the Moose and the Masonic Lodge.
The family wishes to thank the Dryden Regional Health Centre and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their care and concern for Bob and his family.
